The DAAD in Southern Africa

The DAAD Information Centre Johannesburg provides information and consultation on study and research in Germany to South African institutions, members higher education management, academics, researchers and students. It coordinates a variety of projects and programmes in higher education as well as higher cooperation between South Africa and Germany.

What We Do

  • Advice on studying and research in Germany, as well as DAAD funding opportunities
  • Cooperation with South African universities and academics
  • Cooperation with higher education policy makers such as the NRF, the DST and the DHET and higher education and research bodies
  • Cooperation with German institutions in South Africa such as the German Embassy, the Goethe Institute, and the German Development Cooperation
  • Organisation and participation in higher education and research-related conferences and events
