Nelson Mandela University (Gqeberha, South Africa) received a delegation from the University of Oldenburg (Germany) as part of the 25th cooperation anniversary.

Components of the visit included various reviews of the extensive cooperation activities in more than 16 subjects, an interdisciplinary symposium initiated by both universities, and the signing of a new long-term cooperation agreement. “In the spirit of their namesakes Nelson Mandela and Carl von Ossietzky, our universities conduct research and teaching in social responsibility, value diversity and strive to educate students to become responsible members of the global community,” said Prof. Ralph Bruder, President of the University of Oldenburg in his welcoming address. NMU is – along with the University of Groningen – a strategic partner university of the University of Oldenburg. The return visit will take place in June, when a roadmap for the partnership will be signed.
