DAAD-NRF In-Country Scholarship South Africa South African citizens or Permanent South African Residency Holders who have obtained an Honours degree in any field of study. Funding is awarded for a Master programme in any field of study at any South African university.Duration: 1 - 2 years
Scholarships for Post-Graduate Studies at African Centres of Excellence or Scientific Networks  Africa Graduates from South Africa and Africa who hold a Bachelor's or Honours degree in a certain field of study. Funding is awarded for Master programmes in selected fields of study at selected African Centres of Excellences at universities in Sub-Saharan Africa.Duration: 1 - 2 years
Helmut-Schmidt-Programme (Master’s Scholarships for Public Policy and Good Governance - PPGG)  Germany Graduates from South Africa and Africa in the social sciences, political sciences, law and economics fields.
Scholarships are awarded for selected Master courses at selected German Institutions of Higher Learning.

 Germany Graduates from Africa and South Africa in the Architecture, Music, Performing Arts as well as Fine Art, Design/Visual Communication and Film fields.
Funding is awarded for a postgraduate degree leading to a final qualification (Master degree), or further training that does not lead to a final qualification.

Full Doctoral Programme

Germany Graduates from South Africa and Africa who hold a Master's degree in any field of study. Funding is awarded for doctoral research in Germany. Funding is available for Short-Term research (1 - 3 months), Long-Term research (7 - 10 months) or for a full PhD in Germany (3 - 4 years).
Research Grants – Bi-nationally Supervised Doctoral Degrees Germany and Home Country Graduates from South Africa and Africa who hold a Master's degree in any field of study.
Within the Sandwich Scheme, PhD students carry out their research and studies alternately in their home country and in Germany. The doctorate is obtained at the homeland university, but intensive research is done in Germany throughout the Doctoral Programme.
