The Technische Universität Braunschweig is once again hosting its annual Summer School for German Language and Culture for students and young professionals who wish to improve their German. Applications close 1 April 2022!

The TU Braunschweig summer course has a long tradition: Every year they offer 4 to 6-week intensive courses in German language and culture during the semester break. In these courses you will learn German in small groups at 4 different language levels. You will have 6 lessons on each of the five weekdays, during which you will improve your grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary at the language levels A1 to C1 (GER). You will also learn a lot about German culture and regional studies.

The lessons are divided into online and self-learning phases. The language classes are complemented by an exciting excursion and social programme, which is conducted online or in small groups (if possible). In addition, there are planned visits to local museums as well as historical towns and regional companies. The Summer School visit institutes at TU Braunschweig and learn about  innovative research projects. During field trips you will get more familiar with the culture and nature of the region. Movie nights and free time to explore Braunschweig on your own round off the programme.

The course is aimed at students and young professionals from all over the world who want to use the semester break to improve their German. It is particularly suitable for students from TU Braunschweig partner universities who are planning to study at the University in the following semester.

6 week course: 20 June – 29 July 2022

4 week course: 4 July – 29 July 2022

No previous knowledge of the German language is required, but applicants must be at least 18 years old

1.335 € (6-week course) / 890 € (4-week course)
for tuition, teaching material and social programme

Funding Opportunity

To foster international exchange and internationalisation of the region, the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture grants scholarships to student participants from the State’s international partner regions. This year, the scholarships are granted exclusively to students from Eastern Cape and Tanzania to take part in the 4-week course.
